WordUs2 for iOS is Now Ready for the Next Generation of Word Slingers!

St. John's, NL – February 03, 2011 – Binary Dawn is pleased to announce that WordUs2 is now family friendly. The latest update to this hit word game features new 3- and 4-letter dictionaries and is recommended for kids ages 8+.

While mom and dad have been busy building up their linguistic prowess since the game launched in November, WordUs2 with its mix of fun word puzzles, is now ready for the budding scholar in any household. WordUs2 is a great way for kids to practice their spelling and word recall as well as for adults to sharpen their vocab skills.

WordUs2 is useful for young learners as they devise a strategy for weeding out letters and figuring out the secret words. The game’s wordplay will keep the kids engaged and make learning fun. Wordsmiths of all ages can now build a robust vocabulary while they work to solve the various puzzles and challenges ranging from 3 all the way up to 8 letters.

“With its focus on entertaining and educational gameplay, we felt the game would be a great fit for kids and teens,” said company president Roddie Kieley, “so this update means WordUs2 is now accessible to the entire family.”

WordUs2 is an easy pick-up-and-play game, a fun mental workout and great for families to play together. Kids often think that memorizing their spelling list is a real chore, so this app is a fun twist on the traditional spelling test that is sure to keep them motivated to beat their parents’ high scores.

Inspired by popular TV game shows such as Lingo and Motus, WordUs2 was a top 10 game on launch in Canada and has consistently been ranked as the #1 “What’s Hot” word game. WordUs2 was also recently recognized with an honorable mention in the 2010 Best App Ever Awards word game category.

About WordUs2

The idea of the game is simple: Players test their acumen as they attempt to guess a mystery word of varying lengths given only the first letter. After each guess, if a letter is in the correct spot, the square will appear orange. If the letter is in the word yet in the wrong place, the letter itself will be surrounded by a yellow circle.

WordUs2 comes with a dictionary of thousands of words. There are four exciting game modes: "Calm & Collected" (no time limit/unlimited guesses), "Every Guess Counts" (5 guesses to get the word and keep progressing), "Think Fast" (time limited based on word length), and the "Six Minute Sprint" (guess as many as you can within the time limit). Each mode features different twists and challenges that are sure to keep players of all ages guessing for hours on end.

"We’ve focused on building a challenging app that will really give your brain a workout as we test your vocabulary,” added Kieley. “Even though it's a relatively simple game, WordUs2 is amazingly fun and addictive.”

WordUs2 version 1.2 now also features iOS multitasking.
