Sohu ChangYou recently confirmed it will introduce its Qibao Plan at ChinaJoy 2011’s Business To Business Area, aiming to identify future partners and premier products among the global game developers.
ChinaJoy Business To Business Area, an integral part of ChinaJoy 2011, will be divided into three sub-areas, namely the Business Area, the Tool Display Technology Area and the Outsourcing Business Matching Area. It will provide various business matching services including copyright trading, technology transfer and outsourcing services for both domestic and international game companies, especially SMEs.
According to Howell, the organizer of ChinaJoy 2011, ChinaJoy has become a globally know exhibition event among general gamers. However, as the game industry has been joined by the Internet and some traditional industry players, there is a growing demand for product trading, technology transfer and outsourcing services. Therefore the Business To Business Area was established after a survey on overseas events to serve as an information exchange platform. Meanwhile, Howell also revealed that apart from Sohu ChangYou’s confirmation of participation, various game development companies and agents from Japan, Korea, Russia, Europe, North America, Australia and Southeast Asia are also consulting Howell and making exhibition plans.
Qibao Plan is a key initiative of Sohu ChangYou to share R&D, marketing and operating platforms with domestic and international online game development teams, with an aim to share the R&D and operating experience and facilitate the creation of premier online game products through its cooperation with industry partners.
According to Sohu ChangYou, it intends to focus on the product level. In pursuit of “cooperation and win-win”, Sohu ChangYou will ensure the independence of the game development companies and will not force them to accept investments. Meanwhile, decision-making will both be data-based and facts-based and all product operating and R&D experience will be shared in the process of cooperation.
Sohu ChangYou also revealed that it will launch its latest product LDJ at the Business To Business Area concurrently with the B To C launch. It welcomes overseas operators to hold talks at that time about future authorization issues for this game.
