Hitoshi Sakimoto to Speak at CGOC 2010’s Music Outsourcing Session

With the preparation of China Game Outsourcing Conference (CGOC 2010) under an orderly way, the organizing committee of CGOC 2010 has been setting its heart on the selection of topnotch speakers who fit the gist of the event most to take part in each item on the agenda. Through careful and prudent sifting, the organizing committee officially declared that the second VIP speaker for CGOC—Mr. Hitoshi Sakimoto, board director of BASISCAPE.

Mr. Hitoshi Sakimoto is a globally well-known game musician. In 2002, he founded Basiscape Co., Ltd. and has been the board director of the company. While being the composer and leader of Basiscape, he has also actively cultivated some young artists. Mr. Hitoshi Sakimoto has been engaged in the production of music for quite a large amount of game platforms. By far, he has composed music for as many as 130 games, of which masterpieces such as Tactics Ogre in 1993, Final Fantasy Tactics in 1997 and Vagrant Story in 2000 are forerunners who firstly brought orchestral music into games. Other famous games with underscores by Mr. Hitoshi Sakimoto include Valkyria Chronicles, Immortal Iron Fist 6, Soul Calibur 4 and Crystal Defenders, etc.

After working as arranger and sound effects manager for Dragon Quest 6, Mr. Hitoshi Sakimoto became the chief composer of director Yasumi Matsuno. And In FF XII, which got a full mark from Japan’s authoritative magazine named Fami Tsu, he did a perfect job. Mr. Hitoshi Sakimoto is especially good at products featuring sober and magnificent artistic conception and has a great number of supporters worldwide and is dubbed as a master-level musician in the industry.

At CGOC 2010, Mr. Hitoshi Sakimoto will attend the Music Outsourcing Session and make a brief introduction to the past and current development processes and methods of Japan’s game music. He is also to interact with the attending Chinese music producing and developing teams for discussions of both the similarities and differences existed in the game music R&D sector of both countries.

CGOC is now continuing receiving inquiries and applications from overseas and domestic enterprises and relevant personnel. There is only less than one month left for the passes to be sold at discounted prices. More VIP speakers of CGOC 2010 will be revealed in succession.

The eye-catching global event of World Expo 2010 is being held in Shanghai, which attracts the presence of guests from all around the world. The General Assembly of China Game Business Conference (CGBC), China Game Developers Conference (CGDC) and the China Game Outsourcing Conference (CGOC) will be launched from July, 28th to Aug, 1st at the Shanghai International Convention Center, it is certain that these events will bring about worldwide participation within the gaming industry, therefore to promote and enhance the function of the platform as the “communication center” for the technology &business activities between China and the other countries.

The first China Game Outsourcing Conference (CGOC), co-organized by Howell International Trade Fair Ltd. and Shanghai Multimedia Industry Association, will take place at Shanghai International Conference Center simultaneously with ChinaJoy 2010.
